Director's Report April 24th, 2018
Hello Families, the snow is finally melting and it is time to transition to LSA shoulder season activities. There will be several upcoming events/opportunities taking place over the next two months. First, our final fundraising event will take place this Saturday at the Crowsnest/Pincher Creek Landfill. I realize that there are several other events taking place this weekend, and that not everyone will be able to help out, but this is our last fundraiser/volunteer opportunity of the school year, so if you are available please come support the effort. I will be emailing the event itinerary out in a follow-up email.
LSA students are invited to go on a hike on May 12th. If any parents would like to join us on this medium difficulty hike, you are more than welcome. Then, on June 2nd, Chuck Lee of the Alberta Whitewater Association will be providing an introduction to kayaking at Lee Lake. All necessary equipment will be provided via the Alberta Whitewater Association free of charge. Details and waiver forms for both of these activities will be sent home with all LSA students this Wednesday. Please return the required forms as soon as possible, so we can begin to gather the necessary kayaks and other required equipment.
I will be hosting drop in soccer for Livingstone School students on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:45 pm starting May 16th. Sign-up sheets and waiver forms will go out next week.
The LSA Continuum of Learning culminating presentations will take place at the school on May 23rd beginning at 6:00 pm. This celebration of learning event allows students to present artifacts that demonstrate the work they have put into accomplishing their Continuum of Learning goals. Project description with specific expectations will be sent home with students this week. Students are able to access their Continuum of Learning goals and guiding documents from any internet capable device via their LRSD Google Drive accounts. Please take the time to review your child(ren)'s goals, artifacts and presentations prior to the event to ensure the quality of their work and to provide support as needed.
Looking forward to seeing whoever can make it at the fundraiser this Saturday.
